Challenge:
  • Create a benefit event to raise funds for a small, unknown not-for-profit organization focused on legislative and public program issues.
  • Raise awareness of the organization and the benefits of its work
Action:
  • Created concept and branding for annual benefit - Cielo Latino.
  • Developed marketing approach to corporate sponsors Forged strategic media partnerships to magnify message.
Results: Now entering its eigth year, Cielo Latino has raised nearly $1 million in profits for the Latino Commission on AIDS and is the leading Latino AIDS benefit. The event has provided funds for ground-breaking programs such as a Spanish-language treatment clearinghouse and the Religious Leadership Project. A media partnership with the New York Daily News created the bi-annual and bilingual "AIDS Awareness" magazine, providing crucial educational information on HIV/AIDS to New York's Latino communities.
